Open decompression research and software.
OpenDeco is an independent project for making decompression evidence easier to inspect, compare and reproduce across diving, occupational pressure exposure, defense and aerospace.
Why OpenDeco exists
Decompression knowledge is spread across papers, military and commercial reports, tables, software implementations and datasets that were created for different purposes. OpenDeco builds the infrastructure to connect those sources without erasing their provenance or uncertainty.
What OpenDeco works on
The project covers scuba, commercial diving, public defense research, aerospace and other hyperbaric exposure. Work includes data cataloguing, model reconstruction, reproducible benchmarking, open research software and independent analyses built on public or lawfully accessible evidence.
Open by default, precise about limits
Methods, source references, software and derived data are released openly when rights, privacy and safety allow it. When something cannot be released, the restriction is stated explicitly rather than hidden behind a vague claim of openness.
What OpenDeco is not
OpenDeco is not a certification agency, a replacement for operational procedures, or a guarantee that one decompression model is safer than another. Research outputs describe evidence and model behaviour within their stated scope.
Independent work, open collaboration
OpenDeco can collaborate with researchers, divers, engineers, manufacturers and institutions without giving up the requirement that public claims remain traceable to evidence. Collaboration does not turn a private assertion into a public result.
