Research and safety notice

OpenDeco is a research and information platform for decompression science. It publishes source material, datasets, model implementations, benchmark results and analytical software so that decompression methods can be studied, compared and reproduced.
Operational boundary
OpenDeco does not provide operational dive plans, real-time decompression guidance, medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, fitness-to-dive assessment or safety clearance.
Model outputs
A model output shows what a documented implementation computes for a defined input. It does not establish that the output is safe for a particular person, exposure or operation. A model comparison is not a universal safety ranking.
Historical material
Historical tables and procedures may be reproduced for research. Their presence in OpenDeco does not mean that OpenDeco recommends their operational use.
Pressure exposures
Do not use OpenDeco as the final tool for planning or conducting diving, chamber, aviation, altitude, suit-pressure or other pressure exposures. Operational decisions should use the procedures, equipment, training and professional oversight appropriate to that activity.
Research software
Research software can contain defects. Source availability, reproducibility and verification reduce uncertainty; they do not eliminate it.
Third-party sources
Where OpenDeco links to third-party research, procedures, software or data, the original source remains authoritative for its own claims and conditions of use.
Report a problem
Report a factual, unit, citation, dataset or model error through the correction route. Report security issues through the vulnerability-disclosure route.
