LEGAL
Terms
Terms governing use of OpenDeco services, accounts and interactive features.
On this page
Launch gate: accounts, uploads, contributions and authenticated API access must remain disabled until counsel-approved terms identify the operator, governing law and the obligations that apply to each service.
Public materials
Use of a released page, figure, dataset or software artifact is governed by the licence attached to that exact item. These draft terms do not create a licence where one has not been approved.
Research and operational use
OpenDeco is a research and information platform. Its outputs are not operational dive plans, medical advice or safety clearance; this boundary is stated separately and remains visible on relevant product surfaces.
Accounts and user material
Before account features launch, the terms must set account eligibility, credential security, user-upload rights, research-processing permissions, contribution terms and the responsibilities attached to imported or submitted material.
Acceptable use and API access
The production terms must define prohibited conduct, automated access, API quotas, application credentials and measures used to protect service availability and other users.
Service operation
Service-availability commitments, suspension, termination, account export and deletion behaviour must be approved before they are presented as contractual promises.
Ownership and third-party material
The final terms must distinguish OpenDeco material, user material and third-party material. Third-party licences and source conditions continue to control the material to which they apply.
Warranties, liability and governing law
Warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, operator identity, governing law, jurisdiction and the process for changing the terms require counsel and owner approval. They are excluded from this draft and must be approved before these terms take effect.
